Women & Technology : We live in a world where technology is prevalent and relevant in virtually every area of our lives. Whether we are pioneers or the end users; whether from the developed world or the developing world, our communications, social interactions and lifestyles have all been impacted.

In the words of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar; “Spirituality is the Technology of the Consciousness.” The Source of all technology and creativity is the human mind. It is of immense value and significance to know the secret to tapping into this power cord within us to excel in the world.

With great pleasure, I invite you to join us in the 5th International Women’s Conference entitled “Women and Technology”. We continue our wonderful journey of learning, sharing and growing through our conferences with participation of women from all over the world, representing all facets of life.

Usually, we associate the qualities of sharing, caring, sensitivity, sensibility and connectedness with women. Today technology has opened up a new field of possibilities for us adding to our strength, determination, assertiveness and sometimes aggression. Often, we are stressed and exhausted due to extended working hours and overexposure. This conference is an opportunity for us to relax, re-charge and rejuvenate ourselves as we deliberate on the effect of technology on our lifestyles, family and society and explore ways to empower women, promote responsible leadership, enhance creativity and innovation and connect within and around us. Our speakers are women leaders whose work (in the field of technology or related to the usage of technology) and message have impacted the lives of many women and who are keen to come to the fore front to take responsibility to catalyze a positive social transformation.

This conference provides a platform to share experiences and wisdom with like-minded women from over 100 nationalities.

The conference will be hosted in the International Art of Living center in Bangalore, India. The picturesque and serene premises provide the perfect setting for contemplation and deliberation in an atmosphere of harmony, connectedness and sharing.

A place where millions have meditated, the Vishalakshi Mantap, will be the stage where the discussions on the various topics will be held. When the seeds of positive transformation are sown in the minds of women from around the world in this silent space, progress and dynamism are inevitable.

The International Women’s Conference (IWC) aims to enhance the global impact of women’s work by arranging a platform for dialogue and information sharing. The Conference also integrated The Art of Living’s individual empowerment program with tailored social initiatives designed by the International Association for Human Values (IAHV).

Outcomes of Past Conferences

Some of the service initiatives pledged as an outcome of the conference:

Empowering social entrepreneurship in Bangladesh;
Establishing a rural school in Orissa, India;
Facilitating holistic education for 1500 girl students in Karnataka, India;
Exhibiting continuing commitment towards girl child education. Approximately 4400 underprivileged girl children have been educated since the first Conference in 2005;
Exploring opportunities, along with the World Bank Institute, to develop schemes to empower women in fragile nations.;
Supporting environmental care, beginning with the plantation of 1000 trees at the Conference;
Expanding vocational training for widows in Iraq;
Initiating a signature campaign to urge the government of the United States of America to pass a bill to stop violence against women;
